TCS Global Coding Contest
TCS CodeVita has been proudly promoting the Programming as a contest among global students where individuals across the globe participate and compete to win the coveted 'World's excellent Coder' title.
Introduction:- TCS CodeVita is a sport, I mean literally. Take any sport, let consider cricket for that matter, you walk in to bat for the first time. Swing and a miss, do it couple of times and you’ll eventually hit one over the ropes. Now, consider a programming contest as a game of cricket, metaphorically.
Last season(TCS CodeVita 8), students from 95 countries participated in this contest. The finale had students from 8 countries, who battled it out for the desirable title.

Purpose of the Contest:- The main objective for the contest is to sharpen the contestants' programming skills through some real-life computing practices. The contest also-
Structure of the Contest:- This season we are continuing with the Individual participation like the previous editions.
There are multiple rounds before the top finalist can progress into the Grand Finale.
There will be 3 main rounds to the contest.
Participant Registration:-
2. Students who are already registered on campus commune portal can directly register for the CodeVita.
3. For new users, you will have to sign-up on campus commune and then proceed to register for CodeVita.
4. It is an individual contest.
5. Each registered participant will be receiving a unique secret code or link at a later stage to take part in the contest.

Language Supports in CodeVita:-
CodeVita platform supports coding in multiple programming languages. Languages and supported compiler / interpreter versions will be updated shortly. Broadly the following programming languages will be supported in the contest - C,C++, Java, Pearl, PHP, C#, Python, Ruby etc.
How to Register on the NextStep TCS Campus Commune Portal:-
Steps to register:-
1. Log on to https://nextstep.tcs.com
2. Select "IT"
3. Click on New Candidate
4. Fill the Registration Form (DOB, email ID, gender, mobile number, YOP etc)
5. Select your Highest Qualification Category
6. Select your institute name (Selection of correct institute name from drop down is mandatory)
7. Click on Submit
8. Take note of your DT Reference Number. The same would be used for the entire process.
9. Click on continue, Re-type the password
10. Go to complete registration form, Click on "I Agree", Click on "Save".
11. Fill the complete application form (Personal Details, Academic and Work Details, Other Details).
12. Upload your CV and your photograph in the application form.
13. Check the Application form preview and Declaration and submit.
14. Download the application form for future use

- Provide students as an opportunity to exhibit their coding skills and earn peer acknowledgement.
- Provide an opportunity to display offerings of TCS to the academic world
- Provides a platform to students to practice and enhance their programming and coding skills.
- Provide surprising career opportunities for students in TCS
- Help TCS point bright students
Structure of the Contest:- This season we are continuing with the Individual participation like the previous editions.
There are multiple rounds before the top finalist can progress into the Grand Finale.
There will be 3 main rounds to the contest.
Pre-Qualifier Round (Round 1)- It will be conducted as two zonal rounds, a participant will be tagged to one of the two zonal rounds.
It will be a 24 hours contest window and each participant is provided with 6 hours to solve the questions. Pre-Qualifier round is done in INDIA and for rest of the world it is conducted separately.
Qualifier Round (Round 2)- It will be conducted as once the pre- qualifier rounds is completed globally. Top performers from all the zonal rounds will compete in the qualifier round.
This round will happen after the completion of the Pre-Qualifier rounds for both India and rest of the world students on the same day during a 24 hours window. Each participant is provided with 6 hours to solve the questions.
Grand Finale- The top 25 students from the qualifier round will take part in the Grand Finale and the top 3 ranked students will win prizes amounting to USD 20,000. This round will be held in one of the TCS offices in India.
We will be extending internships and offers to top coders from the contest. February 2021 is the tentative timeline for the Grand Finale.
MockVita:- To help contestants warm up for the contest, practice round(s) will be open to participants who have registered for the contest. This helps you get almost-real-feel of the Contest before the Pre-Qualifier Round.

Eligibility:-
Coders from institutes across India who are completing their academic course in 2021, 22, 23 and 24 alone are eligible for this contest. Registrations are invited from students in under graduate/ post graduate programs related to science / engineering background with any specialization.
